  • Single Sole pumps, sandals and booties

    Stockholm Street Style

We browse everything from runway shows to trade shoes, blogs to boutiques to see what is trending in shoe design every season. We have noticed a new uniformity emerging.  In-the-know women, from coast to coast, have been spotted wearing “single soles” shoes. For those not familiar with shoe industry jargon, it is any heel minus the platform. We are not talking about run-of-the-mill ones that are reminiscent of our moms closet either. When properly executed the look is modern-elegance. The ones we like have had high voltage make-overs.

Jeffrey Campbell’s new single sole collection is uber-modern with his use of black and while materials.  Senso’s versions with vinyl uppers and lucite heels are plastic fantastic. Miista’s Siri pump with lucite heel is nothing short of a geometric work of wonder.

As far as how to wear them, they look as chic with casual looks as they do with a party dress. Pair them with cuffed boy friend jeans and a white shirt,  track pants and a leather jacket or skinnies with a sheer blouse. Worn this way, you will nail that sexy tom-boy look. Or, wear them with an asymmetrical leather skirt for an instant polished, sexy look.

Even if you are a tried-and-true sky-high wedge addict, we have a hunch you will save room in your closet for a least one pair of single soles this season.

We took the liberty of gathering some of our favorites currently in our collection:

  • Our Senso Sadie in Real Simple this month!

It's so sweet that some big time publications are starting to recognizing indie designers in editorials. Our Sadie, from Senso is having her day in the spot light this month. We launched Ashbury Skies to give a voice, to small independent designers so we love getting shout-outs like this one. Thanks Real Simple! If you don't know this Australian design house yet,  they are designed by three sisters, Alicia, Imogen and Skye.  Their laid-back Aussie mindset mixed with a London edge comes though loud and clear in their collections. Having grown up with shoe biz parents, these Aussie gals know a thing or two about shoe making. This sister act works as a team right along side their parents. Check our the entire collection here http://www.ashburyskies.com/shoe-designers/senso-shoes/
